Hard drive mounting
With the fancy hard drive I had created, I didn't want it to be stuffed in a standard bay - I wanted to show it off on the side of the case. To this end, I created a plexi mounting mechanism.
I cut and bevelled a piece of acrylic into the shape of a spider web - in fact, I did it twice, to mount one drive on each side of the case. The double-sided tape under the plexi was to hold it to the piece of aluminium for drilling, so that I could get the screws aligned in the right place.
I soldered together some blue LEDs and wired those to light the plexi for what I hoped would be a neat edge glow effect.
Here you can see the drive mounted to the plexi and the case side.
